I really am not a fan of recap episodes, on the bright side they try to make them somewhat decent.
Orochimaru is truly stuck between parent and mad scientist mentality, at least he gives Mitsuki a choice, where he made the obvious one.
I think Mitsuki will be fine, the problem is the nature of Orochimaru's parenting style, that was a necessary evil for Mitsuki, I don't think it will grow to be more of a problem.

As older Mitsuki said it doesn't matter either way so I would rather think that the tiny (maybe big) spark of parenthood in Orochimaru spoke. ^^
